Game Summary:
Snowblind was a horror-exploration game that took place in the deserted town of Norfinbury, Alaska, in the mid-22nd century. Characters woke up alone with limited supplies, and had to brave the freezing hellscape outside in order to scavenge for more. Staying put was not an option for a couple of reasons - no building had enough in it to sustain a character for more than a few days, and if they gave it a try anyway, they'd start to break down mentally. Despite everyone constantly being on the move, adverse weather conditions made travel slow and difficult, meaning that interaction over the network was much more practical and common than meeting up with other people in person. Most characters formed travel groups (generally consisting of 2-5 people) that they spend most or all of their time with. In addition to foraging for supplies, dealing with horrifying metaplot-related events, and doing all that they could to keep warm, characters had to work together (by exploring new areas of the town, keeping track of info revealed during NPC interactions, interacting with clues left behind by former residents, etc.) to figure out what the hell this town's deal was, and to - hopefully! - figure out a way out.

History of Character in their Game:
How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?)
So here's the thing about Lilly. In canon, she shows great resistance to adapting to the societal norms expected of her, but she's also shown to be perfectly capable of exploring, growing, and interacting with the world around her in her own ways - those ways just aren't what the adults in her life might want or expect. In Norfinbury, this was something that continued. She made very little progress in things that many would consider basic life skills for a six-year-old, such as toilet training, reading and writing skills, and not considering dog biscuits to be haute cuisine, but she did pretty well at keeping herself alive to an extent that was never necessary or expected of her at home, not even when she was living in the woods (she had her ghost-mama and her big sister then, after all). I wouldn't go so far as to say she's completely self-sufficient - she's still only six, after all - but she's definitely a bit more capable of looking after herself now.
Her social and language skills, while still stunted, have also improved to some extent. While none of her individual relationships themselves have changed or affected her much, just the fact that they exist is a big thing for her. She might not yet have anything that could be considered close CR, but she's started to make good headway with branching out, talking to people, and forming tentative relationships, and as a result, she's slowly getting better at talking - even after being taken from the woods, she wasn't exposed to nearly as much speech and dialogue at home as she was in Norfinbury, and that's made a difference. Her pronunciation is still garbled, and she still has a heavy preference for non-verbal communication, but she's started to realize that there are times when she really does want or need to get a point across, and more words and complete sentences are sometimes necessary to make that happen. The existence of the network helped a lot with this; knowing that she'd be able to "turn people off" when she got overwhelmed or tired went a long way towards making her willing to reach out in the first place. This means that in the Meadous - a new, unfamiliar place with new, unfamiliar people, and no network buffer to boot - she might backslide a bit, but not so far that she'd end up back where she started.
Overall, she'll adjust to the Meadous fairly well. Norfinbury had felt familiar because of its darkness and shadows, but the Meadous will feel familiar in its own way, with its forests and rivers and nature. It'll be a safe place where she can scamper around and be a wild child all she wants, while still being in an environment that will gently push her towards continuing her social and emotional growth. She'd liked Norfinbury for all the wrong reasons. She'll like the Meadous for the right ones.
How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?):
She was already small and scrawny, and now she's even smaller and scrawnier.

History of Character in their Game:
arrival
Upon arrival, Lilly spent quite a while looking around for Mama and her sister - it would take her quite a while to come to terms with the fact that they, for whatever reason, were not able to come and get her. She explored the house she landed in from top to bottom, picking up interesting things (such as drawing paper and pens), poking at unfamiliar things, and occasionally breaking things in frustration. Eventually, she discovered the network by accident. While she initially didn't believe that the people she saw and heard onscreen were real, it didn't take long for her to figure out her mistake, and she had some cautious interaction with them - she had her first experience with music that wasn't just humming, as well as her first experience with someone who didn't speak English, and she found someone willing to do some nonverbal communication with her. Still, she drew the line at telling anyone where she was, not wanting them to come snatch her. Despite being told that she needed to move frequently, she stayed in the same house for several days. Nesting down in one spot is in her nature, and besides, moving would make it harder for Mama to find her quickly.
the pit
Just a couple of days after she arrived, Lilly had a strange, surreal dream. (This sort of thing wasn't entirely uncommon in Norfinbury, but she had no way of knowing that.) Waking up in an empty room filled with other people was stressful to her, and for a while, she reverted to sitting in a corner facing the wall, trying to block out as much of the sensory overload as she could. When people came over to check on her, though, she grudgingly interacted with them, which netted her a few more acquaintances, including a drawing buddy. Before the night ended, Lilly jumped into the comforting darkness of the pit, an act that soon caused mysterious red lines to start appearing on her skin.
invasion
By and large, Lilly continued to stay in the house that she had arrived in - one episode of Norfinbury-induced cabin fever sent her scuttling next door for the night, but she immediately returned the next day. Unfortunately for her loner tendencies, she had inadvertently used the network camera to show off enough of her surroundings that people were able to identify where she was, and a group had set out to come and get her. She hid the moment they arrived, but didn't refuse interaction. They gave her some of their food when she asked (which started a trend of her asking everyone she encountered for food, despite having something of a stockpile herself), and she had her first encounter with Kesara, another child who would quickly become something of an adversary in Lilly's mind. At least getting to meet Vanitas's dark shadowy friend was a good consolation prize.
tests
Kesara, an older and more responsible child, had decided to keep Lilly with her to both keep her safe, and to keep an eye on those worrisome red markings; at first, they'd stayed in the house that Lilly had claimed as her own, but Kesara knew that eventually they'd have to move, and so she tasked herself with dragging Lilly out by force. As a result of some event-driven effects (which, honestly, couldn't have been helped by Lilly's general Lilly-ish-ness), Kesara grew increasingly suspicious and determined to keep her quarantined. This culminated in her cutting off a few snips of Lilly's hair and drawing a syringeful of blood in order to run "tests" - and what's more, despite her reservations, Lilly felt the strange, inexplicable urge to let her. By the next morning, these strange effects had worn off of both of them, but Lilly was still spooked enough to bolt the first chance she got. For the next week and a half, she eschewed all contact with people, including network communication.
loner
Lilly continued to travel all by her lonesome (well, all by her lonesome plus Vanitas's little shadow creature, which had started following her a while back), and she fell into something of a routine: she'd land herself in a new building, stubbornly try to stay there as long as possible, and eventually be forced out by cabin fever setting in. She'd then move on to the next building she found, and start the cycle anew. She did eventually start using the network again, though, and generally got more and more used to the idea of being communicative: she still didn't want to meet up with anybody in person, but her conversations got longer and more pointed, she wandered off in the middle of them less, and there was more actual word use from her end. She figured out some things on her own, and got some other things explained to her, and miraculously, she managed to survive by herself for longer than anyone (her player included) could have expected.
consolidation theory
In what was by far Lilly's most upsetting Norfinbury experience, the red-marked woke up one morning on a cell block, where they were to remain for several days. During this period, they were subjected to illness and experimentation, weird visitors, and memory issues that, for better or for worse, left everyone unclear about what exactly was happening to them (particularly when video recordings of the forgotten events started to show up). Lilly wasn't traumatized by this, exactly, and she didn't watch any of the videos, but even after they'd been freed, the whole thing left her feeling much more confused, unsettled, and unsafe than she had before. Up to this point, she'd liked the town well enough; if Mama and her sister had been with her, she would have been happy to stay forever. After this, though, she grew to feel uneasy about it, and that feeling lingered for the rest of her time there - which, as it happened, turned out to only be a couple more weeks, because then she was unceremoniously killed by a monster and woke up in the Meadous.

Canon: Mama (2013 film)
Age: 6
Gender: female
Canon Point: Towards the end of the movie - after she has her little breakthrough moment with Annabel, but before Mama comes and snatches her and Victoria.
Background Link: Wikipedia link
Inventory:
Literally just the clothes on her back, which would be a pair of pants, a shirt, and a lightweight pink hoodie. I'll be nice and say she's wearing socks and shoes, but even that's a stretch, honestly.
Personality:
Lilly's life was atypical practically from its beginning, and it would be difficult to find any aspect of her personality that hasn't been affected by this in some way. Isolated from the world from the age of one, the only relationships - and the only interactions period - she had for most of her life were with her older sister, and with the ghost that raised them. Even after being taken back to civilization and put in the care of their uncle Lucas and his girlfriend Annabel, Lilly continues to have a large amount of trouble adjusting to normal life, and she is decidedly feral. She isn't toilet-trained, she runs around on all-fours, and she rarely lets people get away with touching her without raising a big stink about it. Unlike her sister, she shows little interest in learning how to be "normal". She's provided with plenty of food, but she still likes to find and eat bugs. She's given new, store-bought dolls, but she prefers the ones that Mama makes for her using sticks and twigs.
In addition to her social skills, her language skills are also severely stunted. There's evidence that she understands much of what is said to her - she'll respond to things with facial expressions or with a nod or shake of the head, rather than with confusion or blank stares. But she's rarely verbal, and when she does talk, it's clear that she's not at the level of a typical six-year-old. She says her sister's four-syllable name with picture-perfect clarity, but other, less familiar words and phrases sound as if they were spoken by a young toddler ("use the stairs" comes out as "yoo da deyrs", for example). Even to her sister, she tends to speak in short, simple sentences, and prefers to communicate with body language. Occasionally she's seen whispering inaudibly to herself (or to Mama); it's unclear whether she's actually talking, or just imitating the act of talking by making nonsense sounds. All in all, she has very little interest in talking for communication's sake. This is likely something that would slowly change if she was given the chance to get close to someone and needed to use words more, but it would take a lot of time (as in years, most likely) for her to even begin to become anything close to a talkative child.
But despite all this, she isn't shy or fearful. She's cautiously curious about the world, and will explore when given the opportunity. She has basically no experience with or trust in people, and when encountering somebody for the first time, she's wary, hiding and watching. But if they don't prove themselves to be a threat, she'll draw herself out pretty quickly, and can coexist with them as long as she has a place where she can squirrel herself away when she wants to be alone (she's fond of spending time under beds or behind furniture). And when she feels comfortable enough with someone to come out from under cover, she's likely to start to be open to the idea of communication. If she gets even more comfortable with someone - and in canon, she only manages this with Mama or her sister - she has an affectionate, playful side. She grins and giggles; she jumps on beds and plays games. She does have that part of her that almost feels like a normal six-year-old, albeit one that's rough-and-tumble rather than darling and sweet. Her level of innocence, too, also speaks to her age. Her sister Victoria had been three when they were taken in by Mama, and so she had some memories of their old life that, while forgotten when they were in the woods, did start to come back to her when they were rescued five years later. But Lilly? Lilly had only been a year old. She had no previous frame of reference to tell her that most little girls don't live in abandoned cabins, scrounging for wild fruit, bugs, and raw meat, and being looked after by a big, scary creature that looks like an eldritch abomination. The things about Mama that start to alarm Victoria simply never ping Lilly's radar as things that should worry her. Why should they? They're all she's ever known.
At home, Mama and Victoria fill all of Lilly's social needs, and her threshold for contact with people who aren't them is pretty low - when they're around, she's happily indifferent to basically everybody else. Without them, though, she'd be forced to branch out - contact with only a few people is something she's used to, but contact with literally no one isn't, and she wouldn't do well with total isolation. Still, she'd retain more aloofness than the average six-year-old, and she'd be okay with traveling alone, though she'd also accept another person or a small group as long as she got along okay with them and they respected her boundaries. And she isn't shy about making those boundaries known - if she doesn't like what someone is doing, she's perfectly willing to let them know, whether via frowns and snarls, a firm "No!", or even bites, kicks, and slaps.
Ultimately, she'd be incredibly lonely without anyone familiar around, and particularly without her close people. Mama is especially important to her, because she's the only caretaker figure she knows, and her loss would weigh heavily on Lilly's shoulders. That said, seeking out an immediate replacement to cling to wouldn't be her style. Even if she met people that she felt comfortable being around or traveling with, she'd still search endlessly for Mama - after all, she found Lilly in her new house away from the woods, so why shouldn't she be able to find her in Norfinbury? But that doesn't mean that getting CR with her would be impossible at all. She might not make a goal of looking for people, but people would still be there, and she'd inevitably encounter them, either on the network or in person. And once some of them became familiar, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for her to start slowly forming relationships, be they negative or positive.
Flavor Abilities: n/a
Suitability:
Lilly is, at once, both highly suitable and highly unsuitable for the game environment. She's six years old, which is a little ridiculous even for a setting that's seen children before. She's never been completely on her own, and while she wouldn't totally ignore the network, she wouldn't be likely to use it to its full advantage either. There are a lot of things that she just plain wouldn't understand, at first or maybe even at all. And yet, she was raised by a ghost alone in the wilderness, completely isolated from society and all its modern conveniences. She's used to seeing and processing creepy things (see again the picture of Mama linked above), and there's a lot in Snowblind's setting that would barely phase her at all. She's far from fearless, and things like anomalies chasing her or seeing herself affected by body horror fuckery would freak her out just as much as they do anyone else, but blood on the walls? Mysterious whispers in seemingly-empty houses? Strange shadows in unexpected places? She'd be cautious, but she'd also be curious. She'd interact. Really, it would all feel a lot more familiar than most of the stuff she's had to deal with since being taken out of the woods. She'd probably try to stay in whatever house she woke up in for as long as possible, only leaving when cabin fever drove her out. Being able to regularly pick up food would likely be one of her biggest challenges, because she'd have no idea how to read a map (luckily, she's tiny and used to scrounging, so she'd be able to stretch a week's worth of rations out for quite a bit longer than expected). Honestly, she'd probably die at least a few times, even outside of events. But then she'd wake up, likely not fully understanding what had happened to her, and continue on. She may not be all that adaptable, but she is very, very resilient.

network sample
[The first time something strange and scary had happened, Lilly hadn't reached out to anyone after the fact. It had happened less than a week after she'd arrived, and she hadn't really had anyone to tell, or any reason to try to find someone - sure, there had been a call out on the network for people to share their experiences and pool information, but this had been back before she'd fully realized that people on the network were real, not just pictures like people on TV.
But by now, she's been here for a few weeks. Someone had tracked her down in person and showed her how the network worked, and explained to her that when scary things happened, everybody talked about afterwards, because a lot of the time they were able to find clues that would help everybody get home - clues that would help her get back to Mama and Victoria. So this time, when the town's done falling into temporary chaos and people are regrouping, Lilly jumps into the fray.
She sits on the floor with the tablet pointed towards her, centering it like she'd been taught so that her face, arms, and torso are clearly visible. She looks steadily at the camera, inhales, and begins.]
Warm.
[That's as good a place as any to start the story, because it had been the first strange thing that had happened - it had been warm where she'd ended up. She shoots her arms out, fingers outstretched, and waves them around in the air, indicating large amounts of space all around her.]
Warm. Biiiiiig. Dark.
[She'd found herself in nothingness, in a place so pitch-black that she hadn't even been able to see her hand when she held it in front of her face.
She holds up her arm and plants her forefinger and middle finger down onto it in a downward-facing V, like two legs of a person, and then crooks them so it looks like the finger-legs are crouching. Then she starts running her still-crouched fingers up and down her arm.
She'd sat down on the floor to try to get her bearings for a few minutes, and then she'd scampered around, feeling for something, anything, in the dark.
She opens her mouth in a silent yell, screwing up her face to try to look angry and fierce rather than scared.
She'd hollered and screamed and made a lot of noise, hoping that somebody would answer, but no one had. She'd been alone. She'd hopped around aimlessly, probably in circles, for what felt like hours and hours. And then...
She drops the finger-leg thing for just a second so that she can pinch herself, then forms them again, hopping them off her arm. She flops her hand forward so her palm is facing down and her two fingers are stretched out horizontal along the floor.]
Here.
[She'd felt a pinch and then woken up suddenly, lying down in her little nest under the bed. Had it been a dream? She'd wondered, at first... until she'd realized something.]
Tired, ver'tired. Ver'ver'tired from wunning.
[She's exhausted, like she really had spent all night moving, trying to find her way out of a black void. It hadn't been a restful night at all, so it couldn't have been a dream, right? That's what she's thinking, anyway. She yawns exaggeratedly, rubbing at her eyes, and then gives the camera a small wave before reaching forward to turn it off. She's shared her story, and now she's going back to sleep. Bye.]

Bye.]

a note about speech patterns
Lilly doesn't talk much, and when she does, her pronunciation is kind of garbled-- unless the word is very familiar to her and something she has a lot of practice saying, she sounds like a young toddler rather than a six-year-old. I typically don't type out of the notable accents or speech patterns of characters, but I'm going to make an exception here simply because of how little she talks. Normally I'll do dialogue phonetically to articulate precisely how her speech is unclear, rather than just saying "her speech is unclear" in the narrative. If she gets to a point in a thread where she's saying more than a few words at a time, though, I'll adjust accordingly. I figure a few words here and there witten like dis isn't too annoying to deal with, but whole sentences would be a bit much.
That all said, if the typed baby talk really gets your goat and you'd rather I not do it in a thread with you even just every once in a while, please do let me know! I can certainly adjust.

Anon commenting is ON, and I'm not going to take your crit any less seriously if you decide to take advantage of this (or if you're just a lurker or something)- unless, of course, your purpose for remaining anonymous is to simply bash and offer no advice on how to improve. Concrit isn't trolling in my mind; "LOL GTFO U SUXX0R" is.

Activity proof; exempted due to hiatus
IC Information;
Character Name; Lilly Desange
Canon; Mama (2013 film)
Canon Point; towards the end of the film, after having her little breakthrough moment with Annabel
Age; 6
House; Freya. The close ties she has to Victoria and Mama is literally all that she has for the majority of her life, and it makes up a huge part of her motivation. For most of the film, they're the only ones she will readily communicate and bond with, and she ultimately chooses to go with Mama, even though it means leaving the rest of the world-- and even her sister-- behind.
She could also easily fit in Hel, given that her young life has been quite full of death and death-related things (her father murdered her mother while she was in the house, then a spirit murdered her father while she was in the house, and then she was essentially raised by that spirit). However, I currently have another character in Hel, so I'd like to branch out a bit if at all possible.
Power; Energy Transfer
Personality;
Lilly's life was atypical from practically its beginning. Isolated from the world from the age of one, she and her older sister Victoria were raised by a lonely spirit they called "Mama". They lived in a derelict cabin in the woods, and were essentially wild-- when they were eventually found, they were covered in filth, and exhibited hostile, animalistic behavior such as growling, snarling, and lashing out with their fingernails. Unlike Victoria, she shows little interest in learning how to be "normal". She's provided with plenty of food, but she still likes to find and eat bugs. She's given new, store-bought dolls, but she prefers the ones that Mama makes for her using sticks and twigs.
Her language skills are also severely stunted. There's evidence that she understands much of what is said to her, but she rarely responds verbally, and when she does it's clear that she's not at the level of a typical six-year-old. She says her sister's four-syllable name with picture-perfect clarity, but other, less familiar words and phrases sound as if they were spoken by a young toddler ("use the stairs" comes out as "yoo da deyrs", for example). Even to her sister, she tends to speak in short, simple sentences, and prefers to communicate nonverbally. Occasionally she's seen whispering inaudibly to herself (or to Mama); it's unclear whether she's actually talking, or just imitating the act of talking by making nonsense sounds. In short, though she'll sometimes experiment with word-like sounds, she doesn't seem to have much interest in talking for communication's sake, at least not with most people. This is likely something that would slowly change if she was given the chance to get close to someone and needed to communicate more, but it would take a lot of time (as in years, most likely) for her to even begin to become anything close to a talkative child.
Despite all this, though, she isn't really shy. She's cautiously curious about the world, and will explore when given the opportunity. She's often indifferent towards people, but when confronted by them, she can be a little scrapper-- sometimes she'll run if she feels threatened, but just as often she'll confront them with slaps, kicks, bites, and snarls. If she gets a bit more comfortable with someone, she calms down a bit-- and is therefore more open to simple, hesitant communication rather than indifference or flight/fight. If she gets even more comfortable with someone-- and in canon, she only manages this with Mama or her sister-- she has an affectionate, playful side. She grins and giggles; she jumps on beds and plays games.
Ultimately, she'd be incredibly lonely without anyone familiar around, and particularly without her close people. Mama is especially important to her, because she's the only caretaker figure she knows, and her loss would weigh heavily on Lilly's shoulders. Still, it's not likely that she'd seek out anyone new, preferring instead to search endlessly for Mama-- after all, she found Lilly in her new house away from the woods, so why shouldn't she be able to find her in Asgard? That said, getting CR with her wouldn't be impossible at all. [Correct spellings are innate, it seems-- and so is grammar, but things like punctuation and capitalization mean nothing to her, so she doesn't bother with them.
[Writing doesn't seem to bring any results from the people she's looking for, though, so she fiddles a bit more until she figures out the audio function.]
Victoria! Come!
