IC Information;
Character Name; Lilly Desange
Canon; Mama (2013 film)
Canon Point; towards the end of the film, after having her little breakthrough moment with Annabel
Age; 6
House; Freya. The close ties she has to Victoria and Mama is literally all that she has for the majority of her life, and it makes up a huge part of her motivation. For most of the film, they're the only ones she will readily communicate and bond with, and she ultimately chooses to go with Mama, even though it means leaving the rest of the world-- and even her sister-- behind.
She could also easily fit in Hel, given that her young life has been quite full of death and death-related things (her father murdered her mother while she was in the house, then a spirit murdered her father while she was in the house, and then she was essentially raised by that spirit). However, I currently have another character in Hel, so I'd like to branch out a bit if at all possible.
Power; Energy Transfer
Personality;
Lilly's life was atypical from practically its beginning. Isolated from the world from the age of one, she and her older sister Victoria were raised by a lonely spirit they called "Mama". They lived in a derelict cabin in the woods, and were essentially wild-- when they were eventually found, they were covered in filth, and exhibited hostile, animalistic behavior such as growling, snarling, and lashing out with their fingernails. Even after being taken back to civilization and put in the care of their uncle Lucas and his girlfriend Annabel, Lilly continues to have a large amount of trouble adjusting to normal life, and she is decidedly feral. She isn't toilet-trained, she runs around on all-fours, and she rarely lets people get away with touching her without raising a big stink about it. Unlike Victoria, she shows little interest in learning how to be "normal". She's provided with plenty of food, but she still likes to find and eat bugs. She's given new, store-bought dolls, but she prefers the ones that Mama makes for her using sticks and twigs.
Her language skills are also severely stunted. There's evidence that she understands much of what is said to her, but she rarely responds verbally, and when she does it's clear that she's not at the level of a typical six-year-old. She says her sister's four-syllable name with picture-perfect clarity, but other, less familiar words and phrases sound as if they were spoken by a young toddler ("use the stairs" comes out as "yoo da deyrs", for example). Even to her sister, she tends to speak in short, simple sentences, and prefers to communicate nonverbally. Occasionally she's seen whispering inaudibly to herself (or to Mama); it's unclear whether she's actually talking, or just imitating the act of talking by making nonsense sounds. In short, though she'll sometimes experiment with word-like sounds, she doesn't seem to have much interest in talking for communication's sake, at least not with most people. This is likely something that would slowly change if she was given the chance to get close to someone and needed to communicate more, but it would take a lot of time (as in years, most likely) for her to even begin to become anything close to a talkative child.
Despite all this, though, she isn't really shy. She's cautiously curious about the world, and will explore when given the opportunity. She's often indifferent towards people, but when confronted by them, she can be a little scrapper-- sometimes she'll run if she feels threatened, but just as often she'll confront them with slaps, kicks, bites, and snarls. If she gets a bit more comfortable with someone, she calms down a bit-- and is therefore more open to simple, hesitant communication rather than indifference or flight/fight. If she gets even more comfortable with someone-- and in canon, she only manages this with Mama or her sister-- she has an affectionate, playful side. She grins and giggles; she jumps on beds and plays games.
Ultimately, she'd be incredibly lonely without anyone familiar around, and particularly without her close people. Mama is especially important to her, because she's the only caretaker figure she knows, and her loss would weigh heavily on Lilly's shoulders. Still, it's not likely that she'd seek out anyone new, preferring instead to search endlessly for Mama-- after all, she found Lilly in her new house away from the woods, so why shouldn't she be able to find her in Asgard? That said, getting CR with her wouldn't be impossible at all. She might not make a goal of looking for people, but people would still be there, and she'd inevitably run across them-- and once some of them became familiar, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for her to start slowly forming relationships, whether negative or positive.
Samples;
[Lilly had eventually come to realize that the unfamiliar squiggles on signs and in books meant something to other people, but she'd never had any interest in learning how to make them mean something to her. Still, when she plays with the bracelet display and realizes that everything on it she can understand-- read-- she can't help but be at least a little curious.]
mama
mama victoria where are you im lilly im here
hello hello hello hello hello hi
[Correct spellings are innate, it seems-- and so is grammar, but things like punctuation and capitalization mean nothing to her, so she doesn't bother with them.
[Writing doesn't seem to bring any results from the people she's looking for, though, so she fiddles a bit more until she figures out the audio function.]
Victoria! Come!
[It's said like a command, and her tone is irritable.]
Mama? Victoria.
[Then, reluctantly:]
... Annabel?

And here's a dear_mun post! At the time of this writing it has no comments, but in case that changes I figured I might as well through it in here.
